Singing Mums – Leeds, Harrogate and Wakefield all took to the stage together for the first time today. In almost an ‘X Factor’ style set up, they were the first group to sing before the judges and bravely stepped up to the task. Performing ‘Rolling in the Deep’, ‘This Woman’s Work’ and ‘Wild Horses’ the mums received very positive comments overall, with just a couple of unforgivable comments about their lack of matching shoes and folders! Lunchtime entertainment was provided by singer and guitarist, @mickyjohnsonmusic, who had the mums singing, duetting and dancing along. The afternoon brought with it even more success as Singing Mums won an award for most original arrangement for ‘This Woman’s Work’, arranged by Singing Mums founder, Georgia Jakubiak. The mums were then treated to a stunning performance by @leedscontemporarysingers before joining forces with the other choirs from all over West Yorkshire for a group performance of ‘Africa’, ‘Don’t Stop Me Now’ and ‘Sing’. An amazing day was had by all!
